The findings are based on the Israeli Ischemic Heart Disease Study, which began in 1963. The study followed over 10,000 men, and the data gathered has been used to draw a variety of conclusions about men’s health. Uri Goldbourt, a professor of epidemiology and preventive medicine at Tel Aviv University, presented the findings on the correlation between marriage and a reduced risk of stroke at the American Stroke Association’s International Stroke Conference, WebMD.com reports.
