Health & Wellness Day

Twenty-Four Notes That Tap Deep Emotions

Of all the military bugle calls, none is more recognizable or more filled with emotion than TAPS.

At a recent Veteran’s Day event at Oakmonte Village at Lake Mary, Oakmonte Village Resident Lou Cicola brought tears to our eyes with his rendition of TAPS.  Lou was a bugle player for the United States Army, 3rd Infantry Division for three years during World War II.  He was inducted to play TAPS for the memorial services of enlisted men.  Playing TAPS today brings back bittersweet memories of the men he fought with and the men who never came home.

Thank you, Lou for your service to this great nation and for providing the Residents and guests of Oakmonte Village at Lake Mary with your heart renching rendition of TAPS.
